The organizers of the “Advanced Scientific Programming in Python - Latin America” summer school series (in short: ASPP-LatAm) handle your personal data with care and within the limits of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By using this website, by applying to ASPP-LatAm, or by participating in ASPP-LatAm, you agree to the terms of the following statement.

Data Collection

When you access our website we collect your IP address, visited pages and User-Agent of your browser. This information is only used in case we have to examine the web server logs to detect the origin of possible denial-of-service attacks. This data is deleted automatically after three months.

When you apply to ASPP-LatAm the data that you provide in the application form will only be read by the internal review committee. The data you provide in the application form will not be shared with third parties under any circumstances. Parts of the data from the application may be used in anonymized form for statistical purposes (and as such be shown on this website). This data is retained indefinitely to allow us to periodically update statistics about applicants.

When you participate in ASPP-LatAm your name will be shown in the list of students on this website for the current event together with your nationality and country of affiliation. Your name will be also recorded in the permanent list of ASPP’s alumni. Your name, gender, and email may be shared with the local organizing team to coordinate collective lodging for participants. The data you provide in the application form will not be shared with third parties under any circumstances. If we are required to do that by law, you will be informed explicitly. Parts of the data from the application may be used in anonymized form for statistical purposes (and as such be shown on this website). This data is retained indefinitely to allow us to periodically update statistics about participants.

The data is securely stored using appropriate security technology. Any apparent or actual misuse of data will be reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities.

Cookies & Tracking

We do not employ any cookies on this site (apart from the website’s session cookie) nor do we use any internal or external tracking mechanisms. However, embedded content (e.g. videos, maps, etc.) on this website may make use of cookies and/or other tracking mechanisms. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. Even if we pay attention at what kind of content we embed on this website and avoid providers known for not respecting users’ privacy, we still strongly encourage all visitors to disallow third-party cookies when browsing this website.

Your Rights
